General Discussion / Mobile interface
« on: May 06, 2017, 02:26:30 pm »
I like the new mobile interface on my iPhone (webpage). I was doing some manual runs today and couldn't see a way to stop a manual run that I initiated. I ended up running another zone for 1 second to stop the zone the zone that I had running.

Feature Request / Re: Lock Master Valve to specific Zone
« on: January 23, 2017, 10:20:58 am »
A suggestion for a work around on this is to rename your zones with a reference to the master zone. Example, name your zones something like:
1-Front yard
1-Front flowers
1-Side yard
2-Back yard
2-Back flowers

That way when you want to turn on the front flowers, you (and your wife) will know it's master 1 or 2.

This might be a work around to get you by until the feature is added (if it is).

Feature Request / Re: Logging and syslog

To simulate a sensor trip is difficult because of the location of the sensor.

To the controller the sensor is just a contact closure (or open, depending on the config) when active. Can you simulate it at the controller by just jumpering the sensor contacts at the controller?

Help / Re: New Bluespray controller not working
« on: June 25, 2016, 01:25:59 am »
Chlempink.. take my advice and get your money back... a year ago this worked great.... now does not work at all and no one can fix anything...

Hardly a fair comment. Bluespray offered to repair your unit, but for some reason you're not wanting to work with them to resolve the issue.

Help / Re: Upgrade to 2.0.2, unit no longer responding at all

Ryan,

We don't really know what happened to the controller until we get our hand on it.  We cannot send you a replacement because you may have the older model and we may not have any such model in stock.
Please send it in. We'll ship via USPS Priority to expedite it back to you.

@ Ryan.

my update locked my unit up as well... I was sent a new firmware update 2.0.3  (It does not work well either) I too am floored that they cant send new unit to replace something broken... I also agree that my entire lawn will burn up as well (1.5 acres of pristine grass!) I am basically done with this company and will look to buy another unit and contact an attorney about getting my money back... and the only way they deal with you is through email.... sorry I chose this product!  unless something changes very soon, I will strongly hit the internet and post what terrible product this is, and to stay away.. buyer beware........... again... dealing with a unit not working... I cant water anything

Seems unfair and harsh. 4-weeks ago they asked you to ship yours in and they would repair/priority ship it back.

I don't know what you're expecting from them if you don't work with them to get the issue resolved.

I have found quick support by e-mail. Give them a try at support at bluespray dot net

Try this:

Select Settings,  Operations, Click in the box "Additional Master Valves (terminals):", a list of the terminals should appear, Click in the one you want to change and hit the space bar to toggle off, then OK

I like the new timer count down feature that shows the time remaining on a running zone on the lawn view. Not sure if this applies to scheduled runs, but I see it on a manual run. I like it!

General Discussion / Re: Hunter Rain Clik Wireless Rain Sensor
« on: November 05, 2015, 08:45:13 am »
Just a suggestion, you could disconnect the rain sensor completely and use a simple jumper wire on the terminals of the Bluespray to simulate the rain sensor. If the Bluespray reacts as you suspect, it's a rain sensor issue. If it doesn't work as expected, you have a Bluespray issue (configuration or other fault).

To trouble shoot the rain sensor: do you have a multimeter that you can use to check the continuity between the Blue, Orange and White wires?

I looked at the manual on-line and it looks like the 2 yellow wires are 24 volt AC. It looks like the Blue is common, Orange is normally open and White is normally closed.

Do you set up the sensor in the settings area of the Bluespray controller? I saw this info in my manual.

Quote
Setting up sensors
If you installed a rain sensor or door sensor, use the information in this section to configure it.
Consult your rain sensor user manual to see what type of sensor you have. Configuring the sensors improperly may affect the operation of your BlueSpray controller.
To set up a sensor
1. Click the Settings tab, then click the Sensors tab.
2. Enter the following to set up the rain sensor:
• Sensor type. Select the type of rain sensor that you have.
NO: Normally Opened rain sensor
NC: Normally Closed rain sensor

Click Save.

Help / Re: Unable to connect
« on: October 09, 2015, 12:51:47 pm »
I know Bluespray will respond with the fix for you, but thought I would throw out something I use from time to time on Wifi devices that I need to confirm the IP address.

I use a free app on my iPhone/ipad called FING. It's a WiFi network scanner that will show you all the IP addresses of all the devices on your Wifi. Just run the app on your smartphone/tablet while connected to your Wifi and run a scan and look for the device name (I think Bluespray shows as Bluespray). Now you have/confirmed the IP address and you can type that in the address bar of your browser.

There's another app called iNet that does a similar thing.

Help / Re: Replacing Rainbird ESP12-LX

Can you run a multi-conductor cable between the 2 existing controller locations? If so, you could combine all the zones to a single, 24-zone controller.
