Feature Request / Re: sprinkler types when you set up zones
« on: February 24, 2016, 01:24:36 am »
My sincere apology.  I was agreeing with john1963 about specifying sprinkler type, soil type (and even plant type) more with an eye toward having BlueSpray provide informed feedback on recommendations/suggestions about zone run duration and frequency (you know, somewhat like what you could get out of a RainBird calculator - http://www.rainbird.com/landscape/resources/calculators.htm).  I really know next to nothing about EvapoTranspiration, and you are correct... may be too much too fast.

Thank you.  I'll watch for that.

Well, I just installed my garage door kit last week and find it very helpful (see my other feature request about creating NON-admin users).  Put me down for a multi-door module when developed.  Thanks.

Where are we on this issue?  Important capability.

This is a really old item, but I'm with john1963.  These suggestions would move BlueSpray up several notches to a new level of sophistication and usability.

Has there been any further discussion/thought on this?  Have we looked at Davis weather stations?

Where are we on this item?  I'm not finding anything at IFTTT.

Feature Request / Create/Manage NON-Admin User(s)
« on: February 23, 2016, 01:20:37 pm »
I would like to have ability to create user(s) that I (admin) assign specific rights.  Example - I would like to establish a user for family members that I permit to open/close garage door, but do NOT permit access to Settings or to manually start sprinkler zones.  Ability to create and establish rights for non-admin users would also be an alternate way of handling lawncare and irrigation maintenance techs.

Thank you.

Help / Re: How to re-register a second hand BlueSpray?
« on: December 22, 2015, 01:09:49 am »
Thank you for that!

I have sent a recent email to Support in a effort to correct issues with personal BlueSpray re-registration process.

I would also like to again plead my case for a new evaluation of your internal policy related to re-registering a second-hand unit.  As a retired senior computer specialist, I feel your current procedure requiring the new owner contact the previous owner and ask them to send you an email stating that he/she wishes to transfer his/her account to the new owner really misses the mark.  You have stated that BlueSpray's reasoning for this policy is "The system is designed to prevent someone from hi-jacking or stealing it".  Your controller provides for basic security in the form of username/password.  Using that tool should be the responsibility of the end user, not BlueSpray Support.  That leaves 'stealing it'.  I'm going to stop here and pretend that I believe BlueSpray did not write their policy anticipating a high incidence of BlueSpray controllers being stolen from garages.  Has that been a real problem?  In fact, have there been a lot of cases of username/password protected units being hi-jacked?

Is there any way to see the NOAA information getting to my BlueSpray?

New question for this same thread.  Now that you have allowed me to re-register this second-hand BlueSpray, how can it possibly know what NOAA Weather info to use for my location?

To the issue of previous owner consent, in this age of eBay and Amazon (used), how can we really know the real previous owner?  I would think you should start seeing a lot of that about now.

I received your email and I have followed your directions for re-registering this device.  You should now be in receipt of the information you asked for to transfer ownership.  Thank you.

I have to tell you, BlueSpray's procedure for re-registering a second (third...)-hand device needs review.  Your current process sets the bar rather high for the new owner.  Considering registration has serious impact on device features, it certainly seems to me that a process can (no, must) be devised that does not involve a previous owner.
