I have no idea how you'd operate a 3 way valve, but if you need more zones, you'd need to install an expander board.

Each expander board is $50 USD.  2 boards can be installed under the main board.  The expander boards are always pre-installed at the factory, we don't recommend users to install it, but someone with some electronics background can do it, but we do not support it.  Besides, it would require open up the case, remove the main board (which voids the warranty), then install the expander board(s) in the slot(s) beneath the main board and then connect the power and data cable.

If you understand the risk and still wish to acquire an expander board, you can order it by emailing our support or sales group.  We will fulfil it, but we must say that we cannot support it.

The zone terminals should not have 24VAC when not running.  Did you connect the wiring correctly?
They will not turn on for a fraction of a minute BTW, the minimum unit it accepts is 1 minute.

Help / Re: Can Bluespray safely handle 100 VA (4 amp draw at 24 volt) ?
« on: February 10, 2014, 09:55:53 am »
BlueSpray is designed to operate 24V AC irrigation solenoid.  We have not tested it with any other valve, so we can't say that we support it.

That being said, I've read the Jandy brochure, but am not sure if it's 24V AC or DC.  Our circuit can handle 4A RMS, but that is at the edge of its operating limit.

BlueSpray currently is programmed to operate in minutes.  It can be done in seconds, but not supported in current firmware.

We've updated the page with the outdoor enclosure information.

The controller comes with the blue case, which is an indoor mounted case.  The optional outdoor case can house the BlueSpray controller inside.

Bug Reports / Re: Cant access BlueSpray

Duncan,

Through our conversations, it appears that the controller might be defective and not able to recognize the switch position change.  We'll send you a replacement controller immediately.  Sorry for the troubles.

Duncan,

After you entered the wifi info, the controller will switch to wifi client mode and attempts to connect to your wireless router.  If all information is correct, it should be able to join your home network and get on the internet.  The amber light should stop flashing after it's able to sync time.  The bluespray network should be gone by now because it has switched the wifi mode.

If your amber light is still flashing, it means that for some reason, it cannot join your wifi network.  This could be because it is out of range or the authentication info you entered was not correct.  Please make sure the wifi signal is strong where the controller is mounted.  If not, you should get a wifi range extender.  If your signal is good and it still cannot access your network, then you probably have entered the wrong authentication info.  Make sure you typed in the passphrase correctly and you select the correct encryption method.

Finally, if it still can't get on the network, you have to start the process over by setting the controller to the default state.  Just slide the reset switch to the down position for 10-20 seconds then slide it back up.  The controller should enter the default state, you should be able to see the bluespray wifi network and start over again.

If you still have any questions, please do not hesitate to email our support group.

Announcements / New feature (server side)
« on: November 22, 2013, 11:01:21 am »
Along with the release of v1.1 firmware, we're also introducing a new feature that will help you access your controller without DNS.

If you've registered your controller, you have created an account with BlueSpray.  Now if you log onto your account (via the "Account" tab on our web site), you will be able to access your controller and your account.

NOTE: You must set up Port Forwarding in order to access your controller from the internet.  This feature assumes that you have successfully set up Port Forwarding from your router to your controller.

After logging in, on the "Controller access" tab, you will see a list of the controller(s) that you've registered.  The "Controller name" is the name of your controller (modifiable at the controller).  The "Protocol" column is either "http" or "https", the protocol you'd prefer to access your controller from the internet.  The "Remote host" column is the pubic IP address of your router.  The "Port" column is the port number that you have set your router to "port forward" to.  The "Save" button will save your changes to "Protocol" and "Port".  The "Go" button will take you to your controller providing that you have set up port forwarding correctly and the controller is up and running.

Tip: If your ISP constantly changes your router's public IP address, you should change the "Heartbeat Interval" to a lower value at the controller, under the "Operations" tab.  What that does is tell the controller to ping the server more often, better chance of catching the IP address changes.  The default and maximum heartbeat value is 24 hours.  The minimum is 1 hour.

We will be working a phone version of the account page.  Stay tuned.
