Bug Reports / Rain Sensor Problem
« on: August 18, 2019, 03:49:46 pm »
Trying to determine if my Hunter wireless rain sensor is defective or a problem with my Blue Spray interface.  The battery check on the Hunter transmitter shows good.  The Hunter receiver shows green.  Blue Spray interface shows rain sensor active even though we are in a summer dry period.  I have resynced the Hunter transmitter and receiver.

General Discussion / Re: Hunter Rain Clik Wireless Rain Sensor

Thanks for all the help guys.  It seems I had it right the whole time.  I just had my rain sensor bypassed in error.  It has been raining here in Georgia for almost two days and Blue Spray is taking a break.  On a side note I am still on 1.2.3.  I clicked the download button for 2.0 and it errors out.  Is that because system is paused by the rain sensor?  Anyway thanks to Bluespray admin and Canada Guy for all the help.

I am pretty sure the Hunter Click is functioning properly.  The red light indicating wet was on while the rains were occurring.  Yesterday the plates dried out enough to make the light go green indicating dry so I sprayed the transmitter with water and it immediately wet back red indicating moisture or wet.  Yes I have a multi-meter.  My background is based in repair.  I just think the lights indicate the sensor seems to be communicating fine.  The pump relay might change the parameters of how the Blue Spray communicates but I thought if the software received the signal as wet then it would simply  shut it down.  Thanks for all the suggestions.

Still no go this morning.  The Hunter pdf docs mention that if you have a booster pump or well pump relay you have to split the blue and white with the common to all the valves.  I have assumed that not to be true with a software driven system like my Blue Spray.  Is that a false assumption?  Should I be doing what the hunter instructions give for the Blue Spray system as well?  (splitting the blue wire with the common to all valves)

General Discussion / Hunter Rain Clik Wireless Rain Sensor

Can anyone share some wiring info on the above Rain sensor to my Blue Spray Controller?  I hooked up the two yellow power wires to 24v connection and the comm screw next to it for power and the blue and white leads to the two rain sensor screws.  Yes I have a well pump but staying true to the fact that my Blue Spray is software driven I thought this was enough.  The Hunter shows RED for moisture indicated ( it has been raining a lot) but system still comes on.  Since the Hunter was reading moisture I assumed it is communicating with the wireless transmitter right outside of this location.  Thanks for any help.

So I am guessing port forwarding is only so I can access from other locations via the internet.
Now here is what is going on. This is the 2nd Blue Spray unit I have received.  The 1st unit looked like it might have been tampered with.  It would not connect at all AND the fuse was blown.  Blue Spray sent the 2nd unit.  It connected and I set all my zones and programs and everything worked great for about two weeks then out of the blue last week I get this.  "No BlueSpray controller(s) found.  Please reset and try again."  I reset everything yesterday.  By the way the switch will not reset the unit using the switch down for 20 seconds and up protocol.  I have to unplug the unit and plug it back up and wait 10-15 minutes for it to start broadcasting the hot spot again.  It looked like everything was working yesterday and I get up this morning to find "No BlueSpray controller(s) found. Please reset and try again."  Not sure what is going on.

Hey Canada Guy.  Sorry I have not checked back in.  That looks to be a great post.  I will try it very soon since after a couple of weeks of perfect operation the connection just dropped.  I am assuming port forward should make more stable.  Is that correct?  Anyway thanks.

Ah!!  They have made the google map way easy now.  Just choose it, center it then move your zones to correct spots.  Love it.  Now for the Port Forwarding.  Looks pretty challenging.

Thanks for the great advise.  All setup and working great.  my next two projects are downloading a Google Map satellite photo and using it as my lawn view and then perform port forwarding so I can access from anywhere.  Any and all advise is appreciated  Thanks again.

General Discussion / Blue Spray setup

I am trying to set up my blue spray for the first time.  I am all wired up and powered up.  The green light came on along with the blue and amber.  Now just the solid green and the blinking amber.  I came back to my desktop and I see the blue spray and connect to it.  It connects but then gives the error "no internet access".  My Net Gear wireless modem is about 8' away from the Blue Spray but Blue Spray is only showing two bars but says signal strength fair.  What am I doing wrong?
