Help / Re: Upgrade to 2.0.2, unit no longer responding at all
« on: July 12, 2016, 12:36:42 am »
Is there an API that I can call that will validate the system is functioning as designed? And not just responding to a ping or http call?

Thanks for the note, but the error immediately disappeared when I clicked between screens. It's a software error, nothing at the physical layer. All zones ran when I tested afterwards, I just can't have a controller that stops watering for two weeks with no indication that it has stopped.

I genuinely don't know how to answer the question to how it's doing now. While I appreciate you were able to restore it and return the unit, I have lost all faith in the unit. I noticed this morning that my trees and plants are looking extremely distressed, so I (again) had to validate that the unit was working. Once I got in, I discovered an nice error that said "no zones detected" or something like that after I tried to a manual run on a zone, the result was that no manual run took place.

Digging in further, the logs showed no real data, aside from the manual run that I just attempted. When I increased the data range of the logs, I see that the unit hasn't reported ANY data since 6/27. So i have NO idea if this unit has been watering between 6/28 and 7/10! Based on the way my plants and trees are looking, I have very low confidence that it was, and all this time has been 110 degree days.

How can I tell if this unit was actually working during this time and just not reporting it? vs. not working at all? (see attached)

I would attach the event log as well, but this forum won't allow attachments over 128kb!!! LOL.... fantastic.  Was able to make a smaller version of the screenshot. You can see clearly that the unit did NOTHING between 6/27 and 7/10/16.

@bluespray_admin, anyone want to chime in since you asked how it's been going since you returned it to me?

Canada _Guy, you may wish to re-read the post correctly. That was NOT my reply, it was a different poster in reply too the shared challenges that it appears we have both experienced. Thank you for quoting their replies to me, but that was not my posting to which you are sitting in judgement.

If, after reading the post correctly, you would still like to weigh in on this, please do so. Perhaps you may even inquire to the disposition of my particular situation, to which I'll provide an adequate and accurate response. Until then, good day.

I ended up emailing their support address. Short version is that mine is now bricked. They've asked me to send my unit to them and they'll try to recover it, then ship it back. Like you I have an acre of stuff that needs watering as we go into the 100+'s and can't go 1.5 weeks hoping they can get it back soon. I offered to pay for one to be shipped and refund when they get mine back. Said they can't do that, which blows my mind but speaks volumes about the maturity of their organization.

For now I'm literally having to run a wire jumper between the 24v terminal and each of the zone using a timer on my phone. I wish I could back and skip on this purchase. Extremely disappointing software, and now even worse support. I genuinely regret purchasing this product. I have had issues with literally every firmware they have released. Hope you have better luck, but I'd start with very low expectations.

Thanks for the suggestion. Normally they are pretty quick on the forums, but not so much this time. I've contacted them via their support email address.

Help / Upgrade to 2.0.2, unit no longer responding at all
« on: May 22, 2016, 11:46:51 am »
Unit was not responding to any commands when trying to do manual watering (running 2.0). reboot, etc didn't clear issue. Saw there was a 2.0.2 available, so decided to roll the dice.... again.

Now the unit will not respond at all. I've tried the reset procedure (slide down for 5 seconds, wait for amber light to blink - never happens). I've tried stand-alone mode (slide down for >30 seconds - nothing happens and no hotspot). When power cycling the device, I get all 3 lights on, blue flashes for a bit then turns off (leaving green and amber lit), then amber turns off shortly after (leaving green lit).

Any suggestions?

Bug Reports / Re: Upgraded to v2 - no longer responding/missing settings
« on: December 07, 2015, 01:40:03 pm »
Thanks for the input, but that did not solve the issue. I ultimately had to go into Discovery mode and reconfigure my network settings.

As for the link to the firmware update, I did read that prior to doing this effort. The steps you had me attempt were tied to forgetting your password; I know my password so I'm not sure why I would have attempted that as a troubleshooting step?

So maybe a better definition of what the 'reset' process does would be a valuable item to add to the write-up. From what I've seen, the steps you provided not only does a reset...but it also removes your password???

Bug Reports / Upgraded to v2 - no longer responding/missing settings
« on: December 05, 2015, 02:58:34 pm »
Upgraded to v2 - now it's just hung

All settings are missing, no zones/programs/schedule/seasons. However one time when it did at least show the time, it indicated it was using my 'winter' settings, so something must be in there.

Status on everything is showing as unknown.

I've tried to reboot it from the interface, no luck. Power cycled the device and it comes back online, but again all data missing and browser shows that it's waiting for the device - same response from mobile device as well; just a spinning wheel. If I open an additional browser it says it's waiting for an available port.

How do I make this usable again?

Bug Reports / Re: Zone 2 programming now going to Zone 1
« on: August 17, 2015, 11:17:38 am »
Update to the fix on this issue.

Thanks to James' quick response to my issue, we found that Zone 1 and Zone 2 were both pointing to Terminal 1 (instead of 1 and 2 respectively). I guess the terminal function was added in v1.2.3 and my Zone 2 did not convert correctly to terminal 2 during the upgrade process. So if you've recently upgraded to 1.2.3 it would be a good to idea to validate that all of your Zones are mapped to the correct terminal. I actually really like the terminal concept (now that I know about it), would have saved me some rewire work when I originally set it up!

Also, had to use IE to right and left click the zones. Chrome did not work well for this process.

Bug Reports / Zone 2 programming now going to Zone 1
« on: August 17, 2015, 10:45:36 am »
At some point over the last month my Zone 2 programming is now being sent out Zone 1. I now have 18 trees fighting to hang on through an Arizona summer because I have plants that have been getting all their water! I tested both zones with a volt meter and Zone 1 turns on whether it's Zone 1 or 2 that's selected.

Also, please develop some for of heartbeat monitoring for this device. I'm constantly having to reboot the device because it's become unresponsive and had ping response times greater than 3000ms. One I restart the device it's returns to its normal 3-5ms. Or even develop a weekly reboot process.

I'm starting to lose faith in this product and I really want to like it. I've already opened a ticket, but others need to be aware of this issue as well.

Should also add that I'm running v1.2.3

Help / Weather Induced Schedule Changes?
« on: September 17, 2014, 05:09:22 pm »
How can I tell if my watering schedule was modified based on the weather settings I have in place?  I ask be cause the 'history' tab reflects a normal water cycle on a day when AZ received the most amount of rainfall in recorded history?

My settings are:
Enabled - Yes
60% chance of rain
18hr - forecast range
Temp - 0 degrees
Wind speed - 60mph

Is there a way to get visibility to
1. The weather data that's used to make the determination?
2. What decision was made?
3. A way to reflect what water was NOT wasted as a result of the decision?

Thanks!

Disregard, it took on the 4th attempt to update. No idea why this one worked and the other didn't. Happy to report thumbwheels are much better now.

Bug Reports / Re: Controller stuck in a program
« on: June 30, 2014, 01:32:55 pm »
Thanks, have asked in another thread how to get 1.2-a (and not 1.2).

I already have the heartbeat configured for 24 hours, what I'm asking is if the server can be config'd to alert if it hasn't heard from the box in x hours.
