General Discussion / Re: Garage Door Sensor

Yes, you can use any normally open magnetic reed switch, but for the garage, we recommend something that is strong and rugged such as this one:

It's a wheel, so you should be able to swipe up or down on the number.

It has nothing to do with the rain sensor. If the Download button doesn't work, try download the firmware then upload it to the controller as described here:

General Discussion / Re: Hunter Rain Clik Wireless Rain Sensor
« on: November 06, 2015, 04:39:49 pm »
Reading your post above makes me realize that the Hunter's way is to let the rain sensor make the decision when to water.  The BlueSpray's way it not let such a dumb sensor make the decision.  The controller has more brain than the sensor, hence the controller should make the decision. The sensor's job is just report its status.

Sounds like Hunter's manual tells you to connect the rain sensor between the valve wires and the common wire so that when it is tripped (open), it opens the circuit and the valves won't get energized.

With BlueSpray, you just connect those 2 wires to the rain sensor terminals and the controller will read it as on or off and act accordingly based on the configuration.  The pump relay has nothing to do with it.  If the sensor trips, the controller won't water hence won't turn on the pump any way.

I don't know what color the wires are, but you can use a mulitimeter to measure the resistance between those 2 wires.  If the sensor is tripped (wet) and it reads 0, that means it's normally opened.  Otherwise, it's normally closed.  Connect those 2 wires to the rain sensor terminals.

Do not connect any sensor wire to the common wire terminal.

This rain sensor can be configured to be either Normally Opened (NO) or Normally Closed (NC) depending which wires you use.  You have to tell the controller which one it is in Settings->Sensors.  If you tell it the other state, it will have a reverse effect.

Bug Reports / Re: Daylight Savings Change Glitch

The controller stores the time in number of seconds since 1/1/1970. So when it calculates for the calendar, it shows the time relative to the current time.  However, when the day comes, it'll automatically adjust the to the time change and will execute correctly.

Help / Re: cant get back in

The way it works in 2.0 is regardless whether your controller is able to connect to your router or not, when you slide the switch down, it will operate a hotspot named bluespray so that you can use your wifi device to have direct connection to it.

This is designed to provide easy access to the controller.  Once connected to the hotspot, just type 192.168.123.1 on your browser and you'll see the UI. You can do provisioning, program the controller, check on the network connections, etc.  If you have a technician coming to service your system, just slide the switch down before leaving for work. The technician should be able to access it with his phone or tablet , service the system without you being home.

When done, you should slide the switch up. The hotspot will be disabled (so that your neighbor won't be able to access it).

Help / Re: Unable to connect

We can see that your controller was able to connect to the router and get online. However, the connection was sporadic, which usually means a weak or unreliable wifi connection.  You might want to check the signal quality as observed by the controller.

Can you check the Operations screen to see if bypass is set to on?  If it is, set it to off.

Feature Request / Re: Cycle Control
« on: October 17, 2015, 02:22:56 pm »
That's why we have unlimited programs and start times to give you total flexibility.  What if some one wants to run 2 or 5 cycles?  What if you only need 10 minutes for the 2nd cycle and 5 minutes for the 3rd cycle?

It appears that your controller is of version 2.0.  In 2.0, the hotspot IP address is 192.168.123.1 instead of 192.168.1.1.

General Discussion / Re: Winterizing
« on: September 30, 2015, 11:18:12 am »
No, you don't, and should not unplug the controller.  If you don't have any scheduled run for the winter, it won't run at all.  If you still want it off, just click on the power icon on the UI and it will suspend all watering until you click on it again.
